Exploring the Dimensions and Components of the Branding Model for Iranian Premier League Football Clubs

Abstract
This study aims to explore the dimensions and components of a branding model for clubs in the Iranian Premier League. In terms of purpose, the research is applied-developmental; in terms of data collection, it is descriptive; and in terms of the nature of the data, it is qualitative… Data were collected through semi-structured interviews. The data were analyzed using thematic analysis—comprising purposively selected on the basis of having at least 10 years of work experience. Sampling continued until theoretical saturation was reached. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews. The data were analyzed using thematic analysis—comprising basic, organizing, and overarching themes—and MAXQDA 2018 software.The findings showed that the branding model for Iranian Premier League football clubs consists of five dimensions and 15 components: brand identity and authenticity (visual and symbolic identity; heritage, history, and myth-making; cultural identity and local connection); functional and technical performance (sporting success and stability; attractiveness and quality of play; academy and future orientation); commercial and market development (sponsorship and commercial partnerships; merchandising and product sales; matchday revenue and ticket sales); media and digital communications (social media presence and engagement; public relations and sports diplomacy); and managerial, infrastructural, and social factors (corporate governance and financial transparency; physical infrastructure and a dedicated stadium; social responsibility and ethics; fan loyalty and experience).
